Newborn Care

| Newborn Care |
The time period in which your baby is a newborn, the first twelve weeks of life, is basically the raw, beautiful learning curve of the brand new parent. As your baby grows and learns, you will too, becoming more confident and knowledgeable in your parenting. Knowing some newborn care basics before your child arrives can build confidence during this transition.

This class covers many practical tips like bathing a newborn, what's happening at the changing table, umbilical cord care and ways to soothe a crying baby. Floppy newborn dolls are used to demonstrate handling, swaddling and soothing. Postpartum adjustment of the new parents will also be covered to allow a kinder, more realistic expectation of ourselves.

In this class, parents to be will learn:
• basics of diapering
• soothing techniques for a crying baby
• establishing normal sleep
• bathing and dressing

• postpartum family adjustment and what helps
