Welcome to Realbirth & Bump to Baby
Welcome to Realbirth and Bump to Baby. We provide Childbirth Preparation, Breastfeeding and Newborn Care classes for the expectant mother and her support person. We also provide a community of support, with many classes, support groups and activities for parents and their babies during the transition to parenthood. Bump to Baby is our store featuring eco-friendly and unique products for urban parents.
Our mission is to provide an educational resource for parents, helping them negotiate many of the critical choices they will face during birth and parenthood. Labor and new parenthood are challenging events. We are here to teach, build confidence and provide community. Your choices affect your outcome and your experience. At Realbirth, we are dedicated to giving you tools for the unknown.
Realbirth is a continuation of the strong community support and education programs formerly offered through the Elizabeth Seton Childbearing Center, which closed its doors in November 2003. Realbirth is New York City's first comprehensive center solely dedicated to informing the pregnant consumer and supporting postpartum families. Realbirth is also the home of Friends of the Birth Center, the Childbirth Education Association and Metro Doula Group.
Check out our quick-reference "Drop-in Activities Calendar" or our Classes/Activities menus for more info and full descriptions of all our programs.
Realbirth was recently rated the "Best Parenting Resource In NYC" by New York Mag! Click Here to read the write up.
